| The biome is characterized by warm climatic plains with coarse grass and margins are with scattered trees. Common trees include Acacia, Phoenix and Eucalyptus. |

| Fauna comprises greatest variety of hooved herbivores like zebra, rhinoceros, elephant, several species of antelope, preyed upon by top carnivores. |

| Kangaroos are found in the Savannah of Australia. Annual productivity of tropical savannah is 3000 kcal /m2/year. |
