Organic Food
|
With world wide awareness about dangers of persisting pesticides in food crops, enormous interest is shown in food grown on organic farming principles. Such food is called organic food.

Organic farming is a method of farming wherein synthetic chemical is not used in any form - either to control the pests and diseases or to supply the plant nutrients. Hence, the cultivation is invariably done by use of organic manures, crops residues, vermicompost, etc and insects/diseases are controlled by cultural and biological methods.

Awareness to use organic food is very high in developed societies. The food counters are boldly displaying the tags/brands to claim organically grown food articles. Organic status of the food make sure that they sell residue free food. Organic foods are also in great demand for export purpose from countries - where the level of use of agro-chemicals is low to such countries where every food item is polluted. For e.g., Japan is known to have highest pesticide load on their crop. It would be interested to purchase organically grown rice from India.
