Severe Combined Immuno Deficiency Syndrome (SCID)
It is due to genetic defects. It is a disease of children, where both B-cells and T-cells are absent. SCID is also called a primary immuno deficiency. Such children are highly susceptible to infections and therefore are kept in germ-free isolation units. Affected individuals usually die at an early age.
