Plant Water Relations

Guttation
The loss of extra water in liquid drops from margins of leaves of herbaceous plants when root pressure is high and transpiration is low.

This process is very common during warm humid nights.

This process occurs in plants growing in high soil moisture.

It occurs through specialised pores called hydathodes present near the vein endings.
