Ode to the West Wind

Personification

Personification is to treat an inanimate object or animate as if it were a human being. Poets commonly use this technique to create images in the mind and to give their writing a greater sensory appeal. In this poem, the poet has personified the west wind. He has done so by creating several images. The west wind is described as a destroyer, a preserves, an enchanter, a wild spirit.
