Avoiding Repetition

While speaking or writing we can make the language crisper and better by avoiding repetition. Repetition of words and phrases is a common flaw in the use of English and this can be avoided by using substitutes or by omitting some words, which have been used previously.

Look at these sentences:

Q. Do you like ice cream?

Suggested answer:

Yes, I like ice cream.

Or

The answer could be: Yes, I do.

Now answer the following questions:
