Solve: 3x - 4y = 20 …(i)

5x + 6y = 8 …(ii)

Multiply (i) by 3 and (ii) by 2:

Adding the two, 19x = 76

Substituting x = 4 in (ii), we get

5(4) + 6y = 8

6y = 8 - 20

6y = -12 y = -2

The solution is x = 4 and y = -2.

The answer may be written as {(4, -2)}
