Proposition or statement and Truth Value of a statement
A declarative sentence which is true or false but not both is called a proposition.
 
Example:
 
Sun rises in the west.
 
6<9
 
2+3 = 7
 
Truth value of a statement
 
Truth value is the truthfulness of statement. If a statement is true its truth value is T, if a statement is false then its truth value is F.
 
In the above examples, truth values are (i) F (ii) T (iii) F.
 
Note:
 
Propositions are usually denoted by p, q, r, s etc.
