Parallel Lines
Two lines are parallel to each other if
 
(i) they do not meet, however far they are produced on either side.
 
(ii) they are co-planar (they lie on the same plane)
 
 
 
(i) The perpendicular distance between two parallel lines is the same at all points.
 
(ii) A line is parallel to itself.
 
(iii) Through a point not on the given line, one and only one line can be drawn parallel to the given line.
