To construct an isosceles when altitude CD to the base AB is 2 cm and the vertical angle C = 90o

(1) Take any straight line XY and at any point D on it, draw cutting off DC = 2 cm. Join DC.

(2) At C, on either side of DC, construct angles DCA and DCB, respectively, each being equal to 45o, DC bisects

(3) Here, points A and B are the points of intersection of the two arms of the angle with the line XY.

(4) \ D ABC is the required isosceles triangle.
