Numbers-names and symbols

In English the numbers have been named 'one,two,three.... etc.These are called number names.

To keep an account of the operations, the numerals 1,2,3,...etc existed in English.

The Face value and Place value of Natural numbers

The numbers 523,325,352....etc have been formed by using the digits,5,3,2 .

Each number has two values:-

(1) The Face value of the digits in the given number.

(2) The Place value of the digits in the given number.

In both the numbers 523,and 325 the face value of 5 is 5 that of 3 is3,and that of 2 is2.

But we will see  the place value of each digits are different in different numbers

The Place value of 22 x 1 = 22 x 1 = 22 x 10 = 20
The Place vlaue of 33 x 10 = 303 x 100 = 3003 x 100 = 300
The Place value of 55 x 100 = 5005 x 10 = 505 x 1 = 5
