Comparison of ratios
If a:b and c:d are two ratio then
 
a:b>c:d if ad>bc
 
a:b < c:d if ad < bc
 
a:b=c:d if ad=bc
 
Examples:
 
a) 2:5 > 3:8 as 2x8 > 5x3
 
b) 2:5 < 5:7 as 2x7 < 5x5
 
Ratio of greater inequality, less inequality and equality.
 
A ratio a:b is said to be of
 
greater inequality, if a>b
 
less inequality, if a < b
 
equality, if a=b
 
Example:
 
The ratio 5:3 is of greater inequality.
 
The ratio 2:5 is of less inequality.
 
The ratio 3:3 is of equality.
