Find from the tables the value of

(i) sin 56^o (ii) sin 56^o 24^' (iii) sin 56^o 28^'.

(i) sin 56^o

Find 56^o on 'Natural Sines' tables in 'A' group. As there are no minutes, the value is read horizontally under the 0^' column.

sin 56^o = 0.8290

(ii) sin 56^o 24^'

Look horizontally along 56^o column and vertically under 24^' in 'B' group.

sin 56^o 24^' = 0.8329

(iii) sin 56^o 28^' As in (ii) read for sin 56^o 24^' and for 4^' read from 'C' group.

sin 56^o 24^' = 0.8329

mean difference for 4^' = 7 to be added

sin 56^o 28^' = 0.8336

As the angle has increased, sine ratio has increased.

To find q when sine ratio is known.

If sinq = 0.8336, find q.

\ q = 56^o28'
