If heat is a form of energy, can we convert it into other forms of energy? Yes. Heat energy can be converted into mechanical energy, light energy, electrical energy. For example, all heat engines convert heat energy into mechanical energy. A very hot body emits light (a filament lamp). Similarly other forms of energy can be converted to heat energy.
