Question : I am doing a project involving reed switches in logic circuits and would like to know if there are any practical applications for this. My project is the combinational conjuring trick of rev. Thomas Scarborough. I got applications of reed switches but none involving any form of logic circuits. need to submit project report tomorrow.
Answer : Reed switches can be used in conjunction with magnets on a rotating wheel to create a rotary encoder, that can be decoded using digital logic and quadrature decoding. A simpler but similar application is to use one switch and magnet to get a rough estimate for rotational velocity, by measuring the differences between edges of the switch signal... Question : I want to make an application using a row of 12v lights, four let's say, that light sequentially starting with Light1 continuing to Light4 until they're all lit.
Answer : use four time delay relays.delay -on-make. stagger the timers to start one after another. the timers are usually adjustable. theres probably cheaper ways though.depends on how long in between starts... More from Yahoo Answers
