Question : I am the cross examiner in a highschool debate. I am actually on the affirmative side. I need to have questions that poke holes in the opposing side. My position is that I want the 1964 civil rights act to pass. I cannot think of any questions at this time. please help.

Answer : Our current situation with the blacks right now is the best example. 12% of the population (give or take) with the majority of crimes committed. Obvious answer. Edit: Actually mez, republicans supported the civil rights act. many democrats were opposed. Though its obvious now the republicans wasted their time on these monkies. The only reason blacks support dem now is because they buy their votes with social programs.

Question : What are the important components of this act?

Answer : The Civil Rights Act of 1964 makes it illegal for employers to discriminate against someone on the bases of race, color, religion, national origin, or sex in any aspect of employment. Important components of this act include the fact that it is also illegal to for an employer to retaliate against a person because the person complained about discrimination, filed a charge of discrimination, or participated in an employment discrimination investigation or lawsuit. The law also requires that employers reasonably accommodate applicants' and employees' sincerely held religious practices, unless doing so would impose an undue hardship on the operation of the employer's business.
