Answer : No. But while trade barriers and taxes on imports DO protect the specific jobs they're intended to protect. However, other jobs are often sacrificed in the process. For instance, raising tariffs on foreign coal protects the jobs of domestic miners. But such a policy results in higher energy costs all over the economy. Domestic manufacturers have to pay higher energy costs than they would if they had access to the cheaper foreign coal, so they have to raise the prices of the goods they produce. Question : From the first week of Jay Leno it seems as if they will accomplish their minimum goal of delivering an average of 6 million viewers a night to the show. The average was 11.5 million for the first week. I feel a little bit sad that the networks are going to do a cost benefit competition to see who can get the highest viewers per dollar ratio.

Answer : I saw an episode of Leno the other day. The interviews were completely scripted, it seemed that Jay and his guests have it planned out already. That annoyed me. We'll see how the ratings go, but really the 9-10 hour only has those CSI/Law and Order type shows which I don't really like. We'll see how Community goes, it was OK. I think Joel McHale has a lot of potential. Chevy Chase's character was kinda funny, they can put him in funny situations... More from Yahoo Answers
