  day into 24 hours. Why did they choose that number? One hypothesis is that they conceptualized and studied the dimensions before adopting that number. If you study the first dimension, you can find only three objects: the line, the line segment and the half-line or ray. Thus the number 3 is appropriated to symbolize the first dimension. In the second dimension, hexagons appear automatically if you press circles of same size together. Thus the number six is generated through the most simple ...

Question : help pls.. 1. In what ratio does the x-axis divide the the segment joining (-5,4) and (4,-8)? 2. The line joining (-8,1) and (11,7) is divided into four equal parts. Find the points of division. 3. The point (-3,-4) divides the line joining A(6,-9) is divided into six equal parts. Find the point of division closest to B.

Answer : 1.- P(-5,4), Q(4,-8) --> PQ=(9,-12)~(3,-4) --> Rpq: 4x+3y=-8 --> x/ (-2) + y / (-8/3) =1 --> ratio=(-2):(-8/3) = 6/8 = 3/4 2.- P1=(-8,1), P5(11,7) --> P1P5=(19,6) --> P1P5/4 = (19/4, 6/4)=(19/4,3/2) P2=P1+P1P5/4 =(-8,1)+(19/4,3/2) = (-13/4, 5/2) P3=P1+2 P1P5/4 =(-8,1)+2 (19/4,3/2) = (3/2, 4) P4=P1+3 P1P5/4 =(-8,1)+3 (19/4,3/2) = (25/4, 11/2) 3.- B=(-3,-4)? Then AB=(-9,5) , AB/6=(-3/2,5/6) A=P1=A+0 AB=(6,-9) B=P7=A+6 AB=(-3,-4) Point finded is P6=A+5 AB=(-3/2, -29/6) Saludos...   More from Yahoo Answers
