This movie will demonstrate and teach the viewer how to properly create a frequency distribution chart in Microsoft Excel. Creating this chart will make it easier for the user to determine the mean, median, mode, variance, standard deviation, and z scores for students in there class.
Question : The following data is supposed to be setup in a frequency distribution using a class width of three hours. I"m not sure how to set the classes in the case where the numbers have decimals.

Question : Use these 12 weights of Bears to make a frequency distribution with 6 classes of 93, 223, 237, 118, 96, 225, 98, 132, 196, 159, 203, 229
It gives a table with columns
Weights (lb) of Bears, Tally, Frequency
I don't know how to do this, any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
Answer : your range of values is 237 - 93 = 144 you want 6 class intervals so 144/6 = 24 so you could use a class width of 24 you dont have to start from zero because none of your data is any where near zero. Also you don't have to start on your lowest value or finish on your highest value but you must be able to record all your values. So probably starting on 90 lb and using a class width of 30 would be ok. Make the additions easy. so your class intervals could be 90 - 119 120 - 149 150 - 179 180 - 209 210 - 239 240 - 269 Notice that the class width is the difference between two consecutive upper limits or two consecutive lower limits BUT is NOT the upper limit - the lower limit Notice also that the highest class interval does not have any data values for that interval so if you are required to have at least one value in each class interval then you will have to change the class width. Now as far as the tally column is concerned it is just used to count the data ....   More from Yahoo Answers
