geometry : Geometry ( Ancient Greek: γεωμετρία; geo = earth, metria = measure) is a part of mathematics concerned with questions of size, shape, relative position of figures and with properties of space. Geometry is one of the oldest sciences. Initially a body of practical knowledge concerning..   More from Wikipedia

geometry : Absolute geometry is a geometry based on an axiom system that does not assume the parallel postulate or any of its alternatives. The term was introduced by János Bolyai in 1832. It is sometimes referred to as neutral geometry, as it is neutral with respect to the parallel postulate. The..   More from Wikipedia

geometry : Geometry arose as the field of knowledge dealing with spatial relationships. See also: Computers & Math Mathematics Math Puzzles Geometry was one of the two fields of pre-modern mathematics, the other being the study of numbers. In modern times, geometric concepts have been extended. They sometimes show a high level of abstraction and complexity. Geometry now uses methods of calculus and abstract algebra, so that many modern branches of the field are not easily recognizable as the descendants of early geometry.. geometry : In geometry, an n-sided prism is a polyhedron made of an n-sided polygonal base, a translated copy, and n faces joining corresponding sides. See also: Computers & Math Mathematics Thus these joining faces are parallelograms. All cross-sections parallel to the base faces are the same. A right prism is a prism in which the joining edges and faces are perpendicular to the base faces. This applies if the joining faces are rectangular.. Question : I have a math project and I need to explain how mathematics and geometry are used for carpenters. Please help! thanks!

Answer : Carpenters measure everything, so that is geometry. They measure lengths, widths, areas, perimeters, and angles. Those are all geometry. Ex.- Carpenter needs to build a wall perpendicular to the other wall. Use a T square, you've got a 90 degree angle..   More from Yahoo Answers

Question : which one is not a right triangle? 80,18,82. 20,48,52 ,75,100,125 ,7,12,13, which one is it?

Answer : too bad you were not told how to do it yourself. take the smaller two sides and square them and then add the squares together. This will equal the number when you square the third side IF IT IS A RIGHT TRIANGLE!!!! works EVERY time. good luck doing it yourself!..   More from Yahoo Answers
