Question : I need some help with math homework. How do you figure out percents of change? Some of the questions are '20 is increased to 40' and '66 is decreased to 33'. Oh yeah, round to nearest tenth. Could someone explain to me how to figure these out? Thanks.
Answer : 20 is increased to 40 Actual increase is 40-20 = 20 % increase (remember original was 20) = 20/20 X 100 = 100%

Question : For a school project our math teacher wants us to find the percent error of 2 cm, 0.2 cm, 4 cm, 0.4 cm. I was absent for the days were learned them, can someone use one of these examples or more than one to help me figure it out? Thanks soo much!!
Answer : Ok. I'm doing this in school right now too. I'm going to use 4. the formula for percent error is as follows: percent error= greatest possible error divided by the measurement. since 4 is a whole number(1) then you need to divide 1 in two. (im using 1 for a whole # since 4 is a whole number) p= percent error m= measurement g= greatest possible error p=0.5/4 p=0.125 p=12.5% I really hope this helps......you know what's funny? In my math book I have those exact problems. Are you in algebra?
