Question : In the bible, we know that we are not to make graven images of God or Heaven or things below the earth or under the water. What does this mean and include? If I draw a portrait of someone, have I sinned? If i draw an animal, have I sinned? I do not draw Godly or Heavenly or Hellish images anyway. But it also speaks in The Bible about graven images and likenesses of things on earth and in the air and the water in Deuteronomy 4: 15-19. Is it a sin to draw portraits of things. landscapes? etc?

Look at his studies of eyes, hands, faces, expressions, I know they are classic but they really have a lot of scope for research and really help improve your observational drawing and mark making technique. Try using differing media, pen and wash, ink, graphite, charcoal, gouache etc to develop solid body of work. Go to library and find exceptionally good book on either, which shows a wide range of their work. Good luck with your GCSE's =]
