Question : I live in a remote city new Santa Cruz, I'm trying to find a specific book but don't want to search 20 libraries. Is there a website that compiles all the local library catalogs so I can just search one place?
Answer : I don't know why the Santa Cruz Library system requires you to have a barcode and password to search this through their web page, so I pulled it up through Orange County's: http://www.calcat.org/search_all_libraries.html You do have to fill in your address, etc. but it's not to send you junk mail, just to locate the closest libraries to you. If you're worried, fake an address nearby. Once you are inside with a site address on Firstsearch you'll see that you can "Limit to:" and the default is "All California Libraries" For the closest libraries to you, you'll want to change that to either "Monterey Bay Area" or below that "Monterey Bay Area Cooperative"..   More from Yahoo Answers
