Question : I need help with a day-to-day linear equations. I need 1 with one variable and 1 with two variables. So I need to problems. 1. linear equation with one variable 2. linear equation with 2 variables. I need to know how to do this problem. I suck at math. thanks

Answer : if you are just trying to solve each problem, remember that you Always need to get the variable by itself. So, in order to get it by itself, always do inverse operations- so + when you have - and v v. and x when division and v v. When your problem has multiplication/division and addition/subtraction, always do the +/- first moving them to the other side ie: if you want to get rid of the -2 in 5x-2=8 add 2 to both sides 5x-2+2=8+2 the -2+2=0 and so you have 5x=10 then since its 5 times x inverse will be divide so divide both sides by 5 and 5x/5 = 10/5. since 5x/5 = x, your left with x= 10/5 and so x=2 that was just for linear equation with 1 variable..   More from Yahoo Answers

Question : when solving a linear equation in one variable, the objective is to isolate the variable on one side of the equation. What does that mean? give me an example?

Answer : Any algebraic equation has to be balanced on both sides before solved. This makes the equation 1000x's easier to solve. ie: 2Y=X+3Y-Z divide both sides of the equation by 3 to isolate. 2Y/3=X-Z..   More from Yahoo Answers
