Question : I am a current University student, who was approached about tutoring a student in 7th grade in mathematics. I have absolutely no idea what to charge per hour. I will tutoring twice a week for an hour each time. I completed advanced math and pre calculas while still in high school, and I did very well in both. Thanks for the help!
Answer : I have a son who is homeschooled so I hire lots of professionals to help with difficult subjects. The going rate here in Texas is $35.00 - 50.00 a lesson. I have used one college student and he charged only 25.00 per hour. It also depends on the financial situation of the student's family. Some tutors will give a break to low income families in order to help the child. You know, $50.00 a week would be out of the question for some families. Just charge what you think would be a fair price for your time and gas expense. Hopefully it will be a good deal for you and the student!..   More from Yahoo Answers
