Question : I have to do a project for science class. I tried counting from different pictures of periodic tables but i always get different numbers =(. So I kinda have three questions...
How many metals are there in the periodic table?
How many metalloids are there in the periodic table?
How many non-metals are there in the periodic table?
Please help!!!!
Answer : The reason you got different numbers when you counted them is due to the adding of new elements over the years. On the most recent periodic table there are 118 elements total. There are 91 metals, 7 metalloids, and 19 noon metals. If your teacher disputes that there is 118 total elements. Tell him to go to wikipedia.com and search periodic table. There he will find the most recent table. Also on your project, if you want to blow your teacher away. Note that tthere is a single undiscovered element. That is sort of the missing link in the table. Also, yo could state what elements are what (solid, liquid, gas, unknown).
