To study the action of pepsin on proteins - Boil egg white in distilled water till a cloudy suspension is obtained. Cool it and divide the mixture into five equal portions in separate test-tubes. Label them A to E. Add different substances to each of the five tubes as shown in the table below and e..
Experiments on falling objects and conclusions
Aristotle, the great ancient philosopher performed some experiments to study the speed of freely falling objects. He observed that when two bodies of different masses were dropped simultaneously from the same height, the heavier object reached the Earth's surface earlier than th..

Question : I need to write a paper on a famous experiment in Physics, and i chose Millikan's oil-drop experiment. However, i have to explain what impact is had on the phyics world...and i'm clueless. I know it deteremed the mass of an electron, but how did that change they physics world?
Answer : many physicists had tried to find the mass of the electron using lots of sophisticated methods. Milliken's experiment was fairly simple . although difficult to carry out. Once the mass of the electron was found it was possible to calculate lots of other masses and charges which had been unknown before. It could be argued that the result led to nuclear experiments and theories, hence the nuclear age.

Question : Hi, I'm taking Chem 1A, and I'm using this book called Chemistry: The Central Science.
In the second chapter, we are learning about the cathode ray tube and Millikan's oil-drop experiment. I know they have to do about something with the charges, like the negative electron charge and some other charges, and I know what pieces of info were deduced from the respective experiments (like the charge of a single electron and electron mass). BUT I really have very little idea of how they actually wor..
Answer : These can be long discussions. Your best bet is to consult wiki for full info and refs for further study... http://en.wikipedia.org Plug into search box: Millikan droplet exp, and Cathode ray tube. LATER Wiki should be on your 'favorites list'...offers excellent info on almost any subject.
