Opposition surge - The opposition surge (sometimes known as the opposition effect) of a celestial body such as a planet, moon, or comet is the sudden noticeable increase in the brightness of that object as its phase angle of observation approaches zero. It is so named because the reflected light from the Moon..

Opposites theorem - In trigonometry, the opposites theorem states that for any angle  θ,#8;egin{align} sin(- heta) & = -sin heta \ cos(- heta) & = cos heta \ an(- heta) & = - an heta end{align} In other words, the sine and tangent functions are odd, while the cosine function is even...

Question : This is on my Geometry review sheet for my test and i have no idea, OAT (Opposite Angle Theorem) i always thought to explain opposite angles so i don't know what the difference would be...

Answer : Quite a few theorems involve the term 'opposite angles'. For example is opposite angles of a quadrilateral are equal, it's a parallelogram. Another says if 2 sides of a triangle are equal, then the opposite angles are congruent. When 2 lines intersect, then the vertically opposite angles formed are equal (called VOAT). In a triangle the largest angle is opposite the longest side. So I'm not sure which you are talking about. I believe that what you know as OAT is also called VOAT, listed above. EDIT: I just found another site listing theorums that may be of use to you. For example 9.4 states If a quadrilateral is inscribed in a circle, then its opposite angles are supplementary.
