physics : The Nobel Prize in Physics ( Swedish: Nobelpriset i fysik) is awarded once a year by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. It is one of the five Nobel Prizes established by the will of Alfred Nobel in 1895 and awarded since 1901; the others are the Nobel Prize in chemistry, Nobel Prize in..   More from Wikipedia

What is Physics?
What is Physics? - The word 'Physics' comes from the Greek word 'phusis' meaning 'nature', introduced by the ancient scientist 'Aristotle'. Man has always been fascinated by nature. So, he questioned and sought answers for every phenomena nature could offer. The branch of scienc..

physics : Physics is the science of matter and its motion—the science that deals with concepts such as force, energy, mass, and charge. See also: Space & Time Astrophysics Black Holes Astronomy Matter & Energy Physics Quantum Physics Nuclear Energy As an experimental science, its goal is to understand the natural world. In one form or another, physics is one of the oldest academic disciplines; through its modern subfield of astronomy, it may be the oldest of all. Sometimes synonymous with philosophy, chemistry and even certain branches of mathematics and biology during the last two millennia, physics emerged as a modern science in the 17th century and these disciplines are now generally distinct, although the boundaries remain difficult to define. Advances in physics often translate to the technological sector, and sometimes influence the other sciences, as well as mathematics and philosophy. For example, advances in the understanding of electromagnetism have led to the widespread use of elect....   More from Science Daily

physics : Particle physics is a branch of physics that studies the elementary constituents of matter and radiation, and the interactions between them. See also: Matter & Energy Quantum Physics Physics Nature of Water Nuclear Energy Materials Science Inorganic Chemistry It is also called "high energy physics", because many elementary particles do not occur under normal circumstances in nature, but can be created and detected during energetic collisions of other particles, as is done in particle accelerators. Modern particle physics research is focused on subatomic particles, which have less structure than atoms. These include atomic constituents such as electrons, protons, and neutrons (protons and neutrons are actually composite particles, made up of quarks), particles produced by radiative and scattering processes, such as photons, neutrinos, and muons, as well as a wide range of exotic particles. Strictly speaking, the term particle is a misnomer because the dynamics of particle physics are go....   More from Science Daily

Question : Want to help me out? Would be greatly appreciated. Here's all four: How does physics serve to improve our understanding of physical systems? How do the principles of physics effect your daily life? Describe something in nature that has become more compelling because of an understanding of physics principles Is it possible to describe the whole natural world (chemical and biological) with a small number of physical principles? If so, how? Is physics a redundant science? Do we..

Answer : I could answer most of your questions with this: physics describes EVERYTHING. It is the study of the natural world. But here goes: How does physics serve to improve our understanding of physical systems? Because physics tells us exactly what happens in these systems, it's more than just equations. Behind it all, physics can teach you everything you need to know about the system in question. How do the principles of physics effect your daily life? The most basic physical principles deal with particles and atoms and energy.... that's pretty much everything in the known universe... so I think that accounts for ALL the events in your life. People underestimate how basic physics really is. All other sciences are built off of it, ALL of chemistry is encompassed in physics, even biology (just at a higher level). Describe something in nature that has become more compelling because of an understanding of physics principles Describe something that HASN'T become more compelli....   More from Yahoo Answers
