plant photosynthesis : Plants are a major group of living things including familiar organisms such as trees, flowers, herbs, ferns, and mosses. See also: Plants & Animals Endangered Plants Botany Nature Earth & Climate Grassland Rainforests Exotic Species About 350,000 species of plants, defined as seed plants, bryophytes, ferns and fern allies, have been estimated to exist. As of 2004, some 287,655 species had been identified, of which 258,650 are flowering and 15,000 bryophytes. Plants are mostly autotrophs, organisms that obtain energy from sunlight or organisms that make their own food. Most plants carry out a process called photosynthesis, which occurs in the chloroplasts of plants. It is a common misconception that most of the solid material in a plant is taken from the soil, when in fact almost all of it is actually taken from the atmosphere. Through a process known as photosynthesis, plants use the energy in sunlight to convert carbon dioxide from the atmosphere into simple sugars. These sugars are t....   More from Science Daily

plant photosynthesis : There are three major classes of plant cells that can then differentiate to form the tissue structures of roots, stems, and leaves. See also: Plants & Animals Botany Endangered Plants Genetics Seeds Pests and Parasites Molecular Biology (The three distinct types of plant cells are classified according to the structure of their cell walls and features of their protoplast. Plants will have a primary cell wall and sometimes a secondary wall as well. These two major parts are what determines the function of each individual plant cell.) The tissue types are: Dermal tissue - the outer most covering of a plant; Vascular tissue - Responsible for transport of materials throughout the plant; Ground tissue - Performs photosynthesis, starch storage and structural support.. Answer : oxygen and glucose (normally stored as starch)..   More from Yahoo Answers

Question : I cannot find the answer to this anywhere. The way the question is worded, it is In green plant photosynthesis, water is _______? It's a multiple choice question. The possible answers are: an electron acceptor used to have RuBP reduced to hydrogen gas oxidized to O2 in the dark oxidized to molecular oxygen (O2) in the light Any help on this would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Answer : H2O donates an electron, so one isn't right RuBP relates to CO2...so I don't think so It is reduced to a hydrogen ion that binds with NADP+...so I don't think so... It occurs during the light reaction so the oxidation in the dark...no YES! It is converted to O2 during the light reaction....Last answer is correct....That's why plants "breathe" out O2...   More from Yahoo Answers
