Plasma
Plasma are much like gases except that their constituent particles have become electrically charged, and their behavior in consequence depends strongly upon electromagnetic forces. Most of the matter in the universe is in the plasma state. A fluorescent tube..
The States of Matter
Matter occurs in four states: Solid, Liquid, Gas and Plasma..
Plasma is widely considered to be the fourth state of matter due to its unique properties. Plasma is a gas in which the atoms are ionized, meaning there are free negatively charged electrons and positively charged ions. This collection of charged particles can be controlled by electromagnetic fields and this allows plasmas to be used as a controllable reactive gas. The electronics industry uses this concept to etch very small patterns into silicon to make our modern day devices smaller and ...

Question : the fourth state of matter plasma, how was it invented and when??? not plasma tv or plasma lamp or anything like that plasma the fourth state of matter!!!!
thanks

Question : Plasma is still mysterious because it has never been existed in the Earth. Actually, how can the scientist know about plasma? And by how?
Answer : Plasma is what you have when matter is heated to the point it is not only in the form of a gas, but ionized gas -- that is the heat is so intense that atoms start shedding their electrons, and you end up with a mix of ionized atoms and electrons. Saying that plasma never existed on earth is untrue. An impacting large meteorite, for instance, will vaporize and ionize gas, ionized gas is plasma. Even for small meteorites burning out in the atmosphere, the luminous trail is ionized gas. Northern lights is the effect of high energy particles from the sun hitting atoms of the high atmsphere, ionizing them -- again, plasma. Lightning ionize air -- that is what the visible spark is. Again plasma. You use fluorescent lamp? There is plasma in it while it is running. So, there are a lot of ways one can actually have and thus study plasma. The main reason it is delicate to study is that you cannot easily get an instrument inside the plasma, as the instrument would either cool the plasma....   More from Yahoo Answers
