Question : Hi, a few months ago I did an assingment for Grade 9 math where we Drew a picture with lines, and had to give the formula for each. My teacher lost my assingment so I have to do it again though I have forgotten a lot.
Once I have my lines, and I know its Y=mx+b, how would I convert that equation into standard form? for example I need to make the equations like this...
3y + 2x = 4.5
-4 + y + 2x = 0
Etc
Thanks
Answer : y = m x + b can be rewritten as: y = (ychange/xchange) x + b_num/b_den If we multiply both sides of the equation by the least common multiple of xchange' and 'b_den', the resulting equation will have no fractions. It will appear as: Dy = Ex + F where D, E, and F are integers. Then, we add Ex to both sides of the equations to get Ex + Dy = F To get this into standard form we want the coefficient of x to be non-negative. If E is actually negative, then we can multiply both sides of the equation be 1. In either case, we end up with an equation that has the standard form: Ax + By = C

Question : I'm getting a little confused with the answer to this question.
The radius of the Earth is approximately 6370km. Treat it as a perfect sphere and calculate the volume of the earth in cubic kilometres.
I'm getting some strange answer and im not sure how to write it down please explain showin all working (USING THE FORMULA = 4/3 r3)
thanks for helping :) How would you write it in decimal form? pontefract : Hole in one (Y)
Answer : Do you mean that the end of the answer comes up as x10^12??? That means the answer is too long and you simply need to multiply the answer by 10 , 12 times to get the right answer . For Example: I got 1.082696932x10^12 that would be: 1082696932000 km^3 So yeah, and if it's x10^-12 you just divide instead :) Hope I helped xxxxxx
