A story unfolds - Structure of atom : Let us right away meet those who scripted a "mighty story" of a "miniscule" atom. John Dalton (1766 - 1844) : Born in a poor family of a weaver in England, he rose to become a teacher and later a Principal of a schoo..

Question : I suck at coming up with sentences. I'm the person that needs to see an example then knows everything i'm supposed to do. I just need 3 example sentences on atom structure. Please help.
Answer : An atom is made up of electrons, protrons, and neutrons. The neutrons and protron are in the middle, or nucleus. The electrons make a "cloud" around it because the move so quickly. If you want to know about space, if the nucleus is the size of a baseball field, a single electron would be the size of a walnut, miles and miles away. Hope I helped..   More from Yahoo Answers

Question : I know that the lines correspond to energy emission within the atom... but I'm not sure what the lines tell you about the electronic structure. Does it have something to do with how many electrons are in the atoms? gahh!
Answer : An emission line corresponds to an electron transitioning from an orbital with higher energy to an orbital with lower energies. This happens in discreet stages or quantum leaps. The difference in energy between the orbitals is the energy of the photon emitted. Looking at the energies (wavelength or frequency) of the photons emitted will tell you which states the electrons are transitioning between. The more electrons, the more complicated the electron structure and thus the more emission lines...   More from Yahoo Answers
