Question : I've never used a travelling microscope before so i really have no idea.
Answer : A traveling microscope is basically a low power microscope, with cross-hairs so you can accurately locate what you are looking at, and a micrometer device so you can move the scope sideways slowly and measure its position accurately (to about 0.05mm or better). It's fairly obvious how it works, once you have it in front of you.on the bench and you play with it for a few minutes. To measure a capillary tube, look at the end, not "sideways" through the wall of the tube, otherwise the curved glass of the tube acts as a lens and you will get the wrong answer. You may need to cut a short section of tube (a few mm long) to get it under the scope. You need to fix the tube so it can't move about while you are measuring it, of course...   More from Yahoo Answers
