Wikipedia
unit conversion : Conversion of units refers to conversion factors between different units of measurement for the same quantity. The process of making a conversion cannot produce a more precise result than the original quoted figure. Appropriate rounding of results is normally performed after conversion. (See significant figures). Conversion between units in the metric ( SI) system can be discerned by their prefixes (for example, 1 kilogram = 1000 grams, 1 milligram = 0.001 grams) and are thus not listed in this article. Exceptions are made if the unit is commonly known by another name (for example, 1 micron = 10 −6 metre). For a full listing of multiplication factors, see SI prefix. Within each table, the units are listed alphabetically, and the SI units (base or derived) are highlighted. This article gives lists of conversion factors for each of a number of physical quantities, which are listed in the index. For each physical quantity, a number of different units (some only of historical in....   More from Wikipedia

unit conversion : Approximate conversion of units often needs to be done without calculator, computer, or sometimes even longhand. This article is an informal listing of some simple conversions between (and within) the imperial system, the U.S. customary system and the metric system/ SI. When people say "a foot..   More from Wikipedia

Relation Between Atomic Mass Unit and MeV
Relation Between Atomic Mass Unit and MeV (Mass Energy Relation) - The unit in which atomic and nuclear masses are measured is called atomic mass unit (a.m.u). 1 a.m.u is defined as 1/12 t h of the mass of an atom of 6 C 1 2 isotope. It can be shown that 1 a.m.u = 1.66..

Question : What is the volume per unit mass equal to? What unit conversion would the volume per unit mass be useful for?

Answer : Volume per unit mass is equal to 1/density. It is most useful when you are given a volume of a specific substance and are asked to calculate the mass of that amount of substance...   More from Yahoo Answers

Question : I have a physics question that wants me to convert force to pForce. I'm assuming that's a pica or pika? What is the unit conversion for that.. like 10^what power?

Answer : pF is pico farad, a unit of capacitance. 1 pF = 1e-12 Farad the first and most important thing any engineer or technician (or anyone living in the modern world) is learn the prefixes for the metric system. The basic ones are very simple. k (kilo) = x1000 = e3 M (Mega) = x1000000 = e6 G (Giga) = x1000000000 = e9 T (Tera) = x1000000000000 = e12 d (deci) = /10 = e-1 c (cent) = /100 = e-2 m (milli) = /1000 = e-3 (micro) = /1000000 = e-6 n (nano) = /1000000000 = e-9 p (pico) = /1000000000000 = e-12 f (femto) = /1000000000000000 = e-15 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metric_prefixes..   More from Yahoo Answers
