Question : Suppossing a triangle ABC. THe length of AB is 4.2 and the length of BC is 8.6 and the angle ABC is 36 degrees. Using the area rules which are: A = 1/2 x 4.2 x 8.6 x sin(36) Now knowing the area, which is 10.62, how can I be able to use it to find the unknown side?

Answer : i don't know why you want to find the area. It's not needed. Steps you should do. 1 - Consult textbook. apparently you're too not motivated to do this. 2 - Try doing your homework yourself for once; instead of asking on Y!Answer. You're not allowed internet connection in exams (except if you're doing MBA), you know? phew. nagging is fun. To solve this, you need to use cosine rule. a^2 = b^2 + c ^2 - 2*b*c*cos(A) you're given b, c and A. sub in and wham!
