Green house gases in the atmosphere behave much like the glass panes in a green house. Green houses are like small glass houses whose transparent glass roof and walls allow sunrays to pass through. It keeps the heat from escaping, thus allowing vegetables and flowers to grow even in cold weather. ..

Earth - Earth often referred to as the Earth, Terra, the World or Planet Earth, is the third planet in the solar system in terms of distance from the Sun, and the fifth largest. See also: Earth & Climate Earth Science Geology Near-Earth Object Impacts Earthquakes Natural Disasters Environmental Issues It is also the largest of its planetary system's terrestrial planets, making it the largest solid body in the solar system, and it is the only place in the universe known to humans to support life. The widely accepted scientific theory states that the Earth was formed around 4.57 billion years ago and its natural satellite, the Moon, was orbiting it shortly thereafter, around 4.53 billion years ago. The outer surface is divided into several tectonic plates that gradually migrate across the surface over geologic time spans. The interior of the planet remains active, with a thick layer of convecting yet solid Earth mantle and an iron core that generates a magnetic field. Its atmospheric conditions ....

Beyond EarthHubblecast 24. Date- Source- www.spacetelescope.org 'There's no better place for a telescope than space itself. Above the Earth's atmosphere observations are no longer hampered by air turbulence, so telescopic images of distant stars and galaxies are razor-sharp. Unlike a ground-based telescope, an instrument in Earth orbit can operate twenty-four hours a day and reach every part of the sky. Observing from space also makes it possible to study types of radiation that are otherwise absorbed by the atmosphere. Little wonder that the Hubble Space Telescope has made so many contributions to astronomy. And Hubble is not alone more than 100 space observatories have been launched since the 1960s.Watch this Hubblecast episode and find out more.'

Question : How are the four branches of earth science connnected? Branches: 1.Astronomy 2.Geology 3.Meteorology 4.Ocenography AND! How does Geology help use to understand the past??

Answer : the four branches are connected in a way because they all have to do with earth and where earth is located.(in space) Geology helps understand the past because if you look at rocks or canyons they have 'clues' on or around them to show what happened in the past by there texture, shape, and conditon.

Question : do one of the points end up in wisconsin?

Answer : The Earth has one axis, which has two imaginary points. One points up away from the planet from the north pole, and the other points up away from the planet from the south pole. The term 'four corners of the Earth' probably is talking about looking at a flat map of the Earth. I don't think anything points toward Wisconsin.
