y=sinx : In mathematics, the trigonometric functions (also called circular functions) are functions of an angle. They are used to relate the angles of a triangle to the lengths of the sides of a triangle. Trigonometric functions are important in the study of triangles and modeling periodic phenomena, among many other applications. The most familiar trigonometric functions are the sine, cosine and tangent. The sine function takes an angle and tells the length of the y-component (rise) of that triangle. The cosine function takes an angle and tells the length of x-component (run) of a triangle. The tangent function takes an angle and tells the slope (y-component divided by the x-component). More precise definitions are detailed below. Trigonometric functions are commonly defined as ratios of two sides of a right triangle containing the angle, and can equivalently be defined as the lengths of various line segments from a unit circle. More modern definitions express them as infinite series....   More from Wikipedia

y=sinx : In physical chemistry, Electron Phases describe the sign (positive or negative) of the wave function, which is a solution to the Schrödinger equation. When two wave functions describing two atomic orbitals on the same atom are combined, a hybrid orbital is created. When wave functions for..   More from Wikipedia

Graph of y = sin x
Now let us construct the graph of y = sinx from x = 0 o to 360 o . The following table is readily constructed for intervals of 30 o . Plotting the points and drawing a smooth curve through them we have the curve as shown in figur..

Question : I want to know translation of y =sinx+cosx from y = A sinx. I really need to do it as quick as possible. So, please answer me !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Answer : There is a standard method for y = A sin x + B cos x you chose A = r cos t B = r sin t then square both sides and add r^2= A^2 + B^2 devide to get tan t = B/A so y = r (sin x cos t + cos x sin t) = r sin (x+ t) in the current case A = 1 ans B = 1 so r = sqrt(2) and tan t = 1 or t = pi/4 so sin x + cos x = sqrt(2) sin (x+ pi/4)..   More from Yahoo Answers

Question : I have to find the local max and min of that function, so I need to solve for x. How do you solve for x in y' = -sinx + cosx

Answer : y' = -sinx + cosx Just integrate: y = cosx + sinx + y0 ; calling C=y0 (y -y0) = cosx + sinx [You can maybe determine from your problem whether constant of integration C = y0, or 0, or whatever. But let's solve the general case.] Now note cosx + sinx = 2 (1/ 2 cosx + 1/ 2 sinx) = 2 (sin( /4) cosx + cos( /4) sinx) = 2 sin(x + /4) (y -y0) = 2 sin(x + /4) ( (y -y0)/ 2 ) = sin(x + /4) arcsin ( (y -y0)/ 2 ) = x + /4 x = (arcsin ( (y -y0)/ 2 )) - /4 ANSWER..   More from Yahoo Answers
