Adiabatic Process Definition

Adiabatic process occurs without transferring the heat or matter between a thermodynamic system and its surrounding. Here the energy is transferred only as work as there is no exchange of heat between system and surrounding. The adiabatic process provides a rigorous conceptual basis for the theory and is used to express the first law of thermodynamics.
