Krishnan Ganesh | Founder and CEO |

Ganesh is a serial entrepreneur with four successful ventures in the last 25 years. He has been featured in several international medi, including The Economist, Fortune, Wall Street Journal, New York Times and BBC World, for his unique achievements in starting and scaling green field ventures.

He is currently the CEO of SMARTHINKING and the CEO & Founder of TutorVista. Both these companies are part of the Pearson Group (NYSE:PSO, UK: PSON), the global leader in education, teacher training, education technology and school solutions.

SMARTHINKING, the premier online tutoring provider in higher education, serves nearly 500 post-secondary institutions, including four-year schools, community colleges and for-profit institutions. The company provides a variety of 24/7 tutoring options, including both live and asynchronous instructor-led online sessions, in more than 25 subject areas. SMARTHINKING is distinguished by high-quality instruction provided by its global network of over 2,000 trained professional educators.

TutorVista, a new age consumer Internet company in education services space caters to over 20,000 students in US and UK and employs over 3000 people across India. TutorVista addresses the Indian education market through Edurite, which is present in over 2000 schools through its ICT solution, has over 70 Tutorial Centers and runs and manages more than 19 K-12 schools across India and Nepal. TutorVista's disruptive business model is taught as a case study in leading business schools and is featured in several books for pioneering innovation.

He was also Chairman, investor and advisor in the Data Analytics BPO firm Marketics till March 2007, when the company was acquired by NYSE listed WNS for $63MM. His earlier venture, CustomerAsset was started in mid 2000 with funding from SoftBank and Newscorp to address the international Call Center / BPO Sector. In May 2002, ICICI (NYSE listed, India's largest bank) acquired CustomerAsset and the company is now publicly listed in India as FirstSource Solutions.

As his first entrepreneurial venture, in 1990, he co-promoted IT&T. And as its Founder & CEO, he played a major role in making the company one of India's top multi-vendor IT Service & Support companies with 400 employees and 16 offices. The business was sold to iGate (a listed company) in 2003.

Apart from founding and successfully growing the four ventures, Ganesh has worked as the CEO of Wipro/Bharti British Telecom - a British Telecom JV in India, and held senior management position in HCL Ltd, India's leading IT Company.

Ganesh is a post-graduate from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, and has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Delhi University.
